The treadmill's appeal can be reduced to this: This exercise machine allows people with a busy schedule to enjoy a fast and efficient workout without too much fuss. Since there is practically no learning curve and anyone with two legs can walk and run, the treadmill is often the first exercise machine anyone uses. But this doesn't mean that treadmill use is limited to novices. Even experienced runners can use a treadmill. Many treadmill models allow for difficulty adjustment allowing for variety despite being indoors. One might argue, however, that a treadmill is a superfluous machine. Why use one when you have the entire world to run in? While treadmills can never replace outdoor running, they also offer a range of benefits that make owning one worthwhile. Here are a few reasons why you should get a treadmill. 1. Convenience I'm sure that many people are familiar with this story: You wake up a little later than usual. Upon checking the time, you realise that there's no time to go for a quick jog and you head straight for the shower. You are running late for work and you are stuck in traffic. You send a message to the office that you are running late. Immediately after arriving at the office, you are bombarded by calls, meetings and paperwork. The day passes by you and you realise it's almost sunset. You still have a few emails to write and review. You decide to go for a night run when you get home. As you drive home, you get a message from your boss. Instead, you put off running until the morning. Repeat this scene over and over again. Many people struggle balancing work and life, with barely any time for exercise. Having a treadmill allows you to maximise your time and still work out. Instead of wasting time on driving to the gym, you can just work out at home. They are incredibly convenient allows you to set your own schedule. 2. Safe Sure, outdoor runs are fun until you get mugged or hit by a car. The world is full of dangers, with drunk drivers, shooters and muggers just some of the threats people face on a daily basis. You might think that it will never happen to you until it does. Accidents happen all the time. You may get hit by a drunk driver, or fall down an exposed hole. Lightning strikes are rare, but not impossible. It could even be as simple as stepping on broken glass. Sure, it's nothing until the wound gets infected and you have to run to the emergency room. Why expose yourself to all that risk when you can just work out in the safety and comfort of your home. You even get to do things you won't be able to do anywhere else. Wanna catch up on your favourite show? Just watch it on the telly while walking on your treadmill. 3. Immune to weather Having a treadmill allows you to workout whenever you want, even if there's a thunderstorm or tornado outside. Weather is something that we can never control but can control our movement. Instead of cancelling a workout, just do it at home. You never have to think about the cold, strong winds, torrential rain, etc. The only thing that can get you drenched is your sweat as you run on your treadmill.
