5 Must-Bring Camping Essentials |
Posted: February 3, 2015 |
Camping is an ideal way to escape from civilization into the nature. It is enjoyment under the open sky and fresh air. However, if you do not prepare adequately, instead of enjoying you can experience a complete disaster. I will suggest to you what things you mustn’t forget if you go on camping trip. 1. The tent / sleeping bag There is no camping without a tent or a sleeping bag. If you're camping during the colder period or somewhere where nights are cooler, you will need them both. When choosing a tent, you should have in mind weather conditions as well as whether you have planned to stay in one place all the time or you will hike a lot and change sleeping locations. If you are a hiking type of person bring a small tent, because you do not want to carry too much weight on your shoulders. Depending on weather conditions, you can now find camping bags for the winter, summer and for the mid-season period. Price of the sleeping bags depends on the quality, manufacturers and season it was meant to be used. Summer types are the cheapest. 2. The lighter / matches The best would be to bring both. If you don’t have experience in survival situations and don’t know how to start a fire by friction or otherwise, do not go anywhere without matches or a lighter. You can avoid to bring gas burners or a stove, who can be extremely heavy, but without matches you will not be able to start a fire, and therefore to cook a meal, tea or to warm up. Do not start a fire near the tent, because sparks can pierce it, and you do not need that if it starts to rain. 3. Flashlight It is fortunate that there are camping warehouses where you can find different types of flashlights. Experienced campers say that headlights are the best. My advice to you would be to bring three lights, one for the tent, one for your hand and a headlamp. Keep in mind that they need batteries, so if you forget them, you won`t be able to use lamps. 4. Food and water Determine the amount of food and water to bring by the number of days you`ve planned to stay camping. Have in mind that you will need about 2 liters of water a day, for cooking and drinking. The easiest is to bring a canned food, but don`t forget the can opener. 5. First Aid Don`t forget the first aid kit, even the most basic. It can be of crucial importance, because it can save your life. Pack it the last, or put it in one of the compartments of your backpack so it would be at your fingertips. People often overlook first aid, because they`ve never had an accident on a camping trip, but it can be a serious mistake. This is a description of the basic camping gear that you need to have with you if you decide to camp in nature. Of course, it would be desirable to bring some more equipment, but I wanted to point out what you must have if you don’t want your camping trip to be a torture.
